The project “Acquisition of a Wastewater Treatment Plant for 1,000 people,” executed as part of the “Construction and Expansion of the Regional Military Hospital of Puebla, Puebla,” represents a crucial milestone in environmental management and sustainability of hospital operations. Developed between September and December 2022, this project was carried out at the facilities of the Regional Military Hospital of Puebla.
The essence of the project focuses on the implementation of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) designed to meet the specific needs of up to 1,000 people, highlighting its crucial role in the responsible handling of effluents generated by the hospital.
The supplied compact WWTP stands out for its capacity to perform efficient and comprehensive treatment. Equipped with a pretreatment system, a biological contact reactor, and processes of settling and filtration, the plant ensures the effective removal of solids and contaminants present in wastewater. The implementation of controls and monitoring of parameters, such as pH, ensures the optimal operation of the WWTP.
It is essential to highlight that this project not only complies with Mexican environmental regulations, NOM-002-SEMARNAT-2010, NOM-003-SEMARNAT-2010, and NOM-004-SEMARNAT-2002, but also contributes significantly to environmental protection and public health. The WWTP stands as an essential tool to mitigate the environmental impact of hospital operations, demonstrating the commitment of the Regional Military Hospital of Puebla to sustainability and social responsibility.
