Medium Voltage Network Startup System

Medium Voltage Electrical Network to power the buildings of the 7th phase. The project encompasses a series of crucial elements, including the installation of an SF-6 Encapsulated Switchgear substation, the placement of transformers tailored to the specific demands of each building, the construction of ducts, and the arrangement of Medium Voltage registers, as well as the implementation of control booths and the installation of main low-voltage switches.

Transformers and SF-6 Encapsulated Switchgear for Energy Efficiency: The supply and installation of five transformers were strategically distributed to optimize energy demand in different areas, from the Government Building to the Aeronautics Factory and the Training and Museum Building. The choice of pedestal-type transformers, with ring operation and star-star configuration, complies with J regulations and ensures system efficiency. The CEI brand of transformers, transported from Toluca, State of Mexico, ensures quality and reliability. The installation of SF-6 encapsulated switchgear contributes to safety and efficiency in electrical management.

Civil Infrastructure and Concrete Bases to Support Transformers: Two electrical booths were erected to house the SF-6 encapsulated equipment and the Government Building switchgear. These structures, built with solid reinforced concrete strip footings, block walls, and rigid frames, not only guarantee the safety of electrical equipment but also follow an aesthetic design harmonized with the colors of the surrounding buildings. Additionally, five reinforced concrete bases were established to support the transformers, each adapted to the capacity of its respective equipment, reinforced with rods, and designed with trenches for wiring.

Duct Development and Medium Voltage Register: Duct development involved meticulous layout and excavation, followed by ductwork placement and the pouring of formwork with high-strength pre-mixed concrete. Safety measures were adopted, including plastic tapes with the legend “DANGER” for future identifications. The installation of registers, facilitated by hydraulic equipment, was carried out on gravel beds.

Grounding System and Medium Voltage Wiring: The grounding system was established with a bare copper cable running neutral gauge 1/0, connecting to electrodes at each medium voltage register. This approach ensures the safety and stability of the electrical system. For medium voltage conductor wiring, 1/0 gauge XLP aluminum conductor with 133% insulation was implemented, covering approximately 5,500 meters in key areas such as the Aeronautics Factory and the Government Building.

Conclusion and Regulatory Compliance Guarantee: The work underwent review by the Electrical Installations Verification Unit (UVIE), certifying compliance with Mexican Standards. The conclusion of the project was marked with area cleaning, signage placement, and the delivery of a documentary dossier including system test reports and plans. This project not only strengthens the electrical infrastructure but also highlights the commitment to safety, aesthetics, and energy efficiency in the Military Industry of Oriental, Puebla.
